Nosferatu the vampyre, 1979

The film opens with mummified remains of people. One with shoes on. All though the opening credits. Mouths open.
The a slow motion bat flying and a woman wakes up screeming as if it were all a dream. Lucy. She is in a bed next to a nother man, though they are in separate beds. He tells her that she is having a horrible nightmare and they coudle and sleep.
Scenes of canals as if they are in Amsterdam.
Cats playing with a locket with a woman's picture in it.
Lucy and the man eat breakfast in a mostly white room. It seems to be a period piece. He is wearing clothes from the 1800s.
Lucy is worried about his trip somewhere.
Man walks down the street by the canal. Horses in drawn carriages.
THe man is Harker and he walks into a book shop where he meets Renfeld. Renfeld talks very excitedly and with laughter and with an accent. Renfeld tells him about the trip to Dradula in the Carpathanian mountains. Renfeld tells him that the trip will hvave a good comminssionn and may cost him a little blood. Tells about the count.Renfeld tells that the count lives in a gloomy place, but that the house opposite Harker's may do for the count.
Lucy tells him not to go that she has a horrible feeling and that he will be in danger. She tries to not to permit it. Harher tells that the place where he going the people still believe in ghosts and there are some wolves. Lucy wants to go spend some time by the sea.
THen they are walking on the sea shore together. Long shot of them walking on the sea shore. Then a long shot of them standing on the sea.
Lucy tells Harker that she feels an inner life force and an inner deadly feeling. He just comfors her.
Harker kisses all the People goodbye and especially Lucy. HE tells mina to treat Lucy like a sister and to take care of her. Harker runs way on a horse. Long shots of him riding the horse.
Harker is about to cross a bridge into a gypsy village when he accosted by all the people there. He goes to the main house. Then Harker is in the hotel dinning room and slams his hand on the table and tells the innkeeper to hurry since he has to go to the castle tonight. THe innkeeper tells him not to go as there are people that dissa pear and bad things happen. He tells that there is not a carriage that eill take him there. Harker tells that he will find another way.
Then all the people and gypsies and Harker sit around a fire outside and the gypsies tell about the things that happen at night there. They say that there is a casm and that the pass light divides and the land rises up to heaven and to no one knows where. The castle is just a ruin and no such castle except of the imagination and that if you enter such a castle then you will never return.
Harker is in his room preparing for bed when a woman walks in and gives him a rosary and a book "vampires". She also flicks holy water on him. he reads the book about vampires and that the curse of Nosferatu will last forever.
Harker aasks for the carriage and a horse of a man outside the inn. The man says he has no carriage of horse. Harkers tells that he will have to walk then. Harker walks. Harker walks by a tiver and on narrow paths by waterfalls with torrents of water. He looks troubled. Harker walks through the mist up . A lot of long shots of the mountains and the sky. Harker is overtaken by a carriage while on a path and the man asks him to get in.
The carriage stops short of where Harker is going and the man points to Harker where to go. As he gets to the front door, the doors open. Dracula walks out and talks to Harker in a strange accent. Dracula is pale and has pointed features. D has Harker eat and excuses himself . D is very strange and never stops looking at H. D has great long fingernails and pointed teeth. Then there is the howling of a wolf, which D calls the children of the night making their music.
D looks at the plans for the house in London while H eats. a clock with a strange skull and skeletons rings the hour. H is distracted by it while he cuts some bread. D offers to use an old remedy by sucking the blood. Then he tries to excuse himself for it and throws a chair. D walks H into the wall and into a chair. H falls asleep in the chair and the scene cuts sto Lucy.
Lucy is in bed and a huge bat climbs in her window and up the drapes.
Harker wakes up in the chair and seems to wander what has happened to him and where he is.
He gets up and looks around to see the room and the huge repast on the table. he goes upstairs and looks around. The castle is an old medieval place. There are many old and empy rooms. Harker finds his room. He looks in the mirror in his rooma dn sees in the mirror and checks his neck.
There is a small boy playing his violin outside.
A long shot of a castle 's ruins on the top of the hill. It was there the night harker tried to walk to D's also.
Lucy walking of the beach alone.
Harker is in his room writing his letters to Lucy. He tells that he had a nightmare, but he hopes that it wil pass. He tells of the castle and how it is unreal.
It is night now and D and H are at a table.
D tells about his family and about how old it is and how ceturies go by and the time does without change. D likes the old home that H suggests. D sees the locket with Lucy's picture. He then sign the contract and is interested in how long it takes to get to London. 4 weeks.
H reads the book on vampires and how drinking the blood of the vampire you reap the black plauge.
D come sot H at night. H is laying down and D comes in very quietly and strangely and walks slowly to H. H sits up. D extends his nails and goes slowily to H, H cowers. Cut to Lucy who was walking in her sleep outside. Lucy comes to and screams H's name and D hears it and stops trying to drink H's blood from his neck.
Harker sits up in bed and feels for his neck. Tehn he runs all over the house probably looking for D. He finds most doors locked and rails against them. He walks into the empty courtyard and find an open door with the sarcophagus of D. He opens it and sees D, but just leaves him.
Nightfall. He sees Dloading coffins onto a carriage and then D gets into one and the carriage drives away. Harher realizes that Lucy is probably in danger so he starts tearing the sheets apart and makes a line to climb down from the window to the ground.
Morining, a gypsy child plays violin over H as he lays where he fell.
A river. Gypsies are plying the load of caskets on a raft down the river to a ship waiting to take them on board.
The captain of the ship and the mate are interested in the coffins, which are siad to be holding soil for botanical experiments. they open one and there are rats inside.
h is with the gypies from the towna dn warns them of the coffins as he is looking quite sick.
The ship sials the sea.
Lucy sits in a graveyard at the sea on a beach.
A man sits reading and is asked to visit a man in solitary confinement at the the insane asylum - Renfeld. Renfeld attacks a guard at the jail and laughs oddly - is said to eat only flies, not food.
Lucy is on the beach in the cemetray and is visited by Mina and a man who tell her to be patient that it takes time over the moutins.
Harker won't wait because of lucy. Although he is sick he leaves to go tell about the coffins.
The captain of the ship writes and tells of the curse of the ship that the men are being attacked by something, but that theere is no other man, just the rats.
H rides away.
Lucy visits Renfeld in the asylum. R tells of the master of the rats and that he is coming.
The captin of the ship ties himself to the wheel.
slowmotion flying og the bat.
Night on the ship. D walks in an eary light very slowly. casting shadows on the sails.
Harker rides toward home on the horse.
Lucy sits and looks out a window.
The ship sails, but th ecaptian is ties to the wheel and is slumped over. The ship sails slowly down the canal. Captain slumped. The ship stops.
Renfled understads that the master is here.
The townsfolk stand an look at the ship that has stopped at the canal. Officails board it. The hold is siad to be teeming with rats and they find the log. Tehre si little else on the ship as for cargo. Rats scurry in large goups.
The captian is examind and his neck is found to have two holes in his neck. They read the log and the captians words saying it may be the plague since the rats are everywhere and the men have all died of fever.
Rats, many , many of them scurry on the wharf by the canal. They are all sort of white rats.
Night. D unloads his coffins from the ship. he wakls them through a cemetary to the house waiting for him. It is an old church. D cowers at the site of the cruxifix on the wall. He warries the coffins one by on and casts strange shadows on the walls of the homes where he walks - maybe Harkers and Lucy's home.
A carriaage drives on a road by lakes. It drives into town on the canal and to Harker's home. H is in the carriage. THE men deliver him to Lucy. Harker doesn't seem ot know who Lucy is. and he pushes her away. they bring him into the house and H sleeps. Brain fever must be severe. Harker complains of the sun hurting him, so they close the indows. Lucy asks of Van helsing, the doctor if we are all so insane that we will one day find ourselves in straight jackets.
D walking the streets. Close up. Shadows cast on the house. D standing ourside the windwo of H and Lucy. H sits by himself and the others try to make sense of the ordeal.
Lucy at tat mirror cgoing thouth her hair. A Door opens and the sahdow of D is coming towrd Lucy. She is cowering, but still plays with her hair. D ocmes aroung and frightens her, but had not been visible in the mirror.
D introduces himself. Lucy tells D that H is ruined and that we all die. Only death sure. D tells her that death is not as bad as not dying. He wants to love like H and Lucy. Lucy tells him that it is impossible, not even god could come bewteen them. He asks her to come to him and he will change all that. She says no and uncovers a cross around her neck. D cowers and leaves with only shadows in the mirrow.
People walkign coffins through town.
Renfled in the asylum. R traps a guard n his cell and runs away.
Lucy reads of the vampire book while harker sits near her. She reads of bats and what happens when man drinks of D's blood. The laws of the vampires - cross, a host, a woman may distract him from the morning sum and he will die of the sun.
D and renfeld outside. R laughs and D sends him away to do something.
Many men carry many coffns through twon.
The men tell Lucy that it is the plague, she says she knows the reason and tries to tell, but nobocy willlisten.
She sees the doctor - van helsing and he tells her that it is all her imagination. he tells her that science has abolished these superstitions. Lucy has ot convince him and wants her to read the book. She wants him to go find D. He tells her to use her faith. Faith allows us to believe what we know are not true, she says. He wants to study it scientifically and to wait, but she understands she will have to do it alone and opens teh door for him to leave. She goes to Harker, but he is mostly unreponsive and sks how he knows Lucy. She is distrahgt.
D is running down the sttreet with his cape flowing behind him. He seems to be looking for a door as if the dawn is coming as it is not that dark out.
Lucy walks up to D's place and the front door is crawling with white rats. She walk in and upstairs. The house is empty with light shining through the rafters.
SHe looks doens a staris and sees a coffina with rats crawling on it.
Then she asks a prayer and princles something in the coffin. Garlic?
The twon square. A sheep walks through. It is deserted and fires burn on the ground. Pigs walk freely.
Lucy walks through the twn square and it is milling around with people who are dancing. They want her to dance with her. The dance ina circle almost like the ring around a rosy.
People are merry making. Lucy is confused looking.
A room with rats scurrying on the ground and people sitting. People dining and rats everywhere. Is it a wedding? Lucy looks on. She is invited to sit with them. She has a glass of wine, but walks on. The same table, but no people, now just rats.
Lucy is woken by a woman knocking and she is brought to a house by a servent. Van Helsing is there and confirms it is not the plaugue. He has holes in the neck. Van Helsing says it is not the plague and this is good. Lucy tells him she know what she must do now.
She is with Harker now and crumble host up around Harker on the ground in a circle. She repeats the words of the book about true love distracting the D so he doesn't notice the light of day.
D looking out a window.
Lucy ina room laying. D comes to her with outstretched hands. She stops him. He touches her blankets and pulls them up exposing her legs. her hands caress his and she exposes her neck. His hand on her breast. D drinks of her neck.
Bat flying in slow motion. Church tpe music plays.
D at Lucy'd neck agian. D looks up and slowly looks around. Her hands on him keep him close.
Twon and light of dat. D still drinks. The cock of the crow calls and D looks horrified. He reaches out to the window and sees and feels the light of the sun on him. His breathing is heavy and labored and his eyes are white. He falls and writhes on the ground clutching his heart. Lucy looks calm, then breathes her last breath and dies.
Van Helsing standing over Lucy and cursing his not listening to her. He looks at D and says that he must dispatch of theis fiend forever.
Harker wants to stop him, but he has the host around him and cannot move. Harker calls for the people to arrrest Van Helsing. The police and a man argue about who will arrest VH. They take VH away.
Harker gets a servent to sweep up the host so he can walk aside and then shows that he has D's teeth -front long teth and then says he needs his horse as he has much to do.
A man on a horse rides away and music plays.
